Yasmine Lindskog Visanko is a freelance dance artist, improviser, and choreographer currently based in Brussels, Belgium. She received her BFA in Dance from Cal State University Long Beach and her MA in Contemporary Dance from the London Contemporary Dance School where she was part of the postgraduate company, EDge, under artistic direction of Jeanne Yasko.
She has performed throughout the USA, UK, and Europe. She has performed works by Adaptations Dance Theater, cia Jordi L. Vidal, Shobana Jeyasingh, Tony Adigun, FLOCK, Kaeja d'Dance, Patricia Okenwa, Hagit Yakira Dance, Robert Moses, and Alex Ketley, amongst others. Choreographic credits include commissions for Irvine Valley College, CSU Los Angeles, Teatro Ermete Novelli, Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Resolutions Festival, and more. Yasmine often collaborates with music artists such as Oneohtrix Point Never at the Barbican Centre in London, and Little Grim, for their music video Hoodie selected for the BFI Future Film Festival. She directs movement and choreographs for live performances or music videos.
Since moving to Brussels, she has spent time studying intensively with David Zambrano in his Flying Low, Passing Through, and Improvisational practices. She is developing a solo project which has been presented as a semi-finalist at the Brussels Dance Contest and at Lake Studios Berlin’s Unfinished Fridays Vol. 89. Currently, she works as an independent artist; performing, collaborating, and sharing her work in Europe and the USA.
